  • Amino acids are among the most vital nutrients for the human body.
  • Twenty-two amino acids are naturally incorporated into polypeptides and are called proteinogenic or standard amino acids. They are the building blocks of proteins.
  • Proteins can contribute to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass, and to the maintenance of normal bones.
  • Besides making up proteins, amino acids also perform critical biological roles. Many amino acids are used to synthesize other molecules.

Our full spectrum amino acid formulas contain all 9 types of essential amino acids and almost all of the standard (proteinogenic) non-essential ones. 9 of the 22 standard amino acids are called essential amino acids for humans, because they cannot be synthesized from other substances by the human body and so they must be taken in as food or food supplement. Others may be conditionally essential for some ages, medical conditions or levels of physical demand.

The Branched-Chain Amino Acids (BCAA\'s) are a subgroup among the essential amino acids consisting of Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. The BCAA\'s are among the 9 essential amino acids for humans. They account for 35% of the essential amino acids in muscle proteins. We have standard BCAA products, which typically contain a 2:1:1 ratio of Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. However on the market there is a new standard for BCAA\'s with a dominant ratio of Leucine, 8:1:1 to the other BCAA\'s. We offer this kind of formula as well.

L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the human blood. Glutamine may become conditionally essential in certain situations, including intensive physical training when the body cannot meet its needs by synthesizing glutamine. This conditionally essential amino acid can be provided by dietary protein intake, including by food supplements.

Certain amino acids have non-protein functions as well. Supplementing the diet with certain free amino acids is popular among active people.
